Things You Always Wanted to Know about the Fantinel Winery

“Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”
― Ernest Hemingway

True enough, a sip of the exquisite bottle from one of those classic glasses can indeed melt away all the tiredness from all the day’s labors and take you to a realm of perfection. I mean what more can a perfectionist desire at the end of the day than to sit in a wooden chair with a glass of elixir in his hands in front of a fireplace perhaps?

Fantinel wine

The taste and smell, the colour of wine all these make a wine superior. Hotelier and Restaurateur Mario Fantinel understood that. He valued the feeling his customers got from the sip of wine. It was this drive to offer the best of quality to all those who turned up at his restaurant drove him to purchase a vineyard. He knew that in order to give the absolute, he should be the one making it all. And this was how the foundation of one of the most prestigious companies, Fantinel, was lead.

It was perhaps fate that Mario’s children possessed the same drive to make perfectly textured wine. As the mantle passed on from the father to his children, Luciano Fantinel, Gianfranco Fantinel and Loris Fantinel, the empire grew and evolved. They purchased more and more vineyards and the dream that came to be in the small town of Fruili in north-eastern Italy grew bigger into Fantinel winery.

Today, the mantle has passed on to the third generation of Fantinels in this business – Marco Fantinel, Stefano Fantinel, and Mariaelena Fantinel. And the dream has been embodied in form of the vineyard of more than 300 hectares.
